Is it permissible to make graves from gold for example like Imaam Hussain a.s.’s is now? What about gold on Masaajid, once again like Imaam Hussain a.s.’s has the gold dome and a lot of other parts are made from gold. What about other precious elements and stones on Graves and Masaajid, e.g. silver, emeralds etc? Does it matter whether the Person is someone important or not? Also does it matter whether the gold or silver is the actual element or just colour?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate

[h: It is impermissible to decorate graves or mosques with gold.] As for decorating them with precious stones, it is offensive. And Allah Most High knows best.
