Dua to read when going to the Masjid

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by TheMufti.com

Q. Is there any Dua to read when going to the Masjid?

A. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbaas Radhiyallahu Anhu reports that when the Muazzin called out the Azaan, Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam would proceed to the Masjid whilst reciting the following Dua:

Translation: ‘O Allah, place light in my heart, and in my speech, and place light in my hearing, and place light in my vision, and place light behind me, and in front of me, and place light above me, and light beneath me, O Allah! Grant me light’ (Muslim)

Transliteration: ‘Allahummaj’al Fi Qalbi Noora, Wa Fi Lisaani Noora, Waj’al Fi Sami’ Noora, Waj’al Fi Basari Noora, Waj’al Min Khalfi Noora, Waja’l Min Amaami Noora, Waj’al Min Fowqi Noora, Wa Min Tahti Noora, Allahumma A’atini Noora’
