Feeding out of happiness when children memorise the Quran

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Question

Is it a good practice and rewarding to feed people out of happiness when you/your children have memorised the whole Quran/some surahs of Quran?

Answer

Yes it is good, but it should not be exaggerated. Our beloved Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam once returned safely from a journey and he slaughtered a cow and fed the people out of joy and shukr. Hafiz bin Hajar completed Fathul Baari and he arranged a huge Da’wat.
