Is it permissible for a Muslim to send their parents for Hajj with borrowed money?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Question:

Is it permissible for a Muslim to send their parents for Hajj with borrowed money?

Answer:

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

Sending one’s parents for hajj is a very virtuous act and will attract their pleasure and dua’s as well as the pleasure of Allah ta’ala. However, you should only do this if there is no interest involved in repayment and the borrower has the means to repay the debt. If the borrower is not confident that he wil be able to repay the debt when due then using this money for Hajj will be makrooh however the validity of hajj will not be affected and the Hajj will be valid.

And Allah knows best
