Is body piercing allowed in Islam?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org

Is Ouija board halaal? If not why? Are colored contacts and makeup halaal? Is body piercing (lips, eyebrows, tongue, etc.) permissible?

I did not understand the first part of your question. But contact lenses are permissible even if they are colored. Makeup is also permitted but it is necessary that the ingredients from which the makeup is manufactured from should be pure and Halal. Also, makeup is only for the husband. That’s why, when a lady is at-home then it’s OK, rather preferred, to put on makeup to please her husband.

As a rule, those ornaments, which are put on, a female’s body to increase beauty are allowed: for example, earrings, nose rings etc. Thus, if my putting something like this on the eyes increase beauty and then it would be OK. But to put them on the tongue, or lips, etc. would not be allowed because not only is it not a tool for increasing beauty, but it is also a sign of following the non-Muslims or transgressors, which we should try to do at all times.
