Mustahab amaal during Wudhu (Ablution)

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org

In one of the Hadees the Holy Prophet (SAWS) was reported as saying that if a person does not recite tasmia before making the wazu then his wazu is not valid. Can Mufti sahab (db) please explain the meaning of this Hadees. Could you also mention all the mustahab (not the sunnat-e-muakkedah) amaal of the wazu, there are five mentioned in Taaleem-ul-Islam but someone told me that there are some more could u please mention all of them. I know that you should not make the second wazu unless you have performed an amaal (like praying salaat) with the first wazu, my question is since it is a wajib to touch the Holy Quran with wazu , can I make a second wazu just because I touched the Holy Quran since it is also an act of ibadaat. Or at least can I make a second wazu after I recite a section of Quran-e-Majeed.

The answer to the first question is that if someone wants to perfect his wudhu and to have a faultless action presented in front of Allah, then he should say bismillah. Saying Bismillah in the beginning of wudhu is one of the sunnats of wudhu; and sunnat are usually done to complete an action. This Hadith (saying of the messenger (PBUH)) about bismillah in wudhu means that the wudhu of that person who does not say bismillah in the beginning is not complete. If someone does wudhu without saying bismillah, his wudhu will count and it will valid but the reward will be lessened because he left out a sunnat. Referring to your question about the reference in Taleemul-Haq, if you send us the appropriate pages, then we’ll make the appropriate judgment based on our inspection. After doing wudhu if any action is done for the pleasure of Allah, no matter if that action is based on that wudhu or not, if someone wants to another wudhu with the intention of gaining rewards, it’s OK.
