Is it true that it is not masnoon to recite bismillah hirrahman nirraheem in salaat before reciting the sura after surah fatiha. Is there any sunnat-e-muakkedah in wazu, if not ,why? If qayaam (standing) is fard in Salaat then why do some people pray nafil salaat by sitting, even if they start praying by standing, this way doing the qayaam in the first rakat but they don’t stand for the second rakaat instead they sit and continue the salaat and finish it.
Yes, this is true that Bismillah should not be read before that sura which is recited after sura Fatiha. The Messenger of Allah has emphasized the doing of certain actions. For example: the use of the miswak, washing a part of the body three times during wudhu etc.Standing is mandatory in those prayers which are Fard;
but in nafl (supererogatory, optional, extra) prayers it is not mandatory to stand. It is permissible to pray sitting down in the extra prayers but the reward will be lessened by half. If due to some excused reason you are standing in the first rakaat and sitting in the second, it is okay because there is some leniency in this matter.
