If an alim becomes murtad then after 2-4 months renews iman is he still classed as alim?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org
If an alim becomes murtad then after 2-4 months renews iman is he still classed as alim? How does he renew nikaah? If I was witness to murtad words should I be witness to renewed shahada and nikaah also? (U.K.)
Whether, be it a scholar or a non-scholar as soon as the person converts from the religion his marriage would be nullified, his actions would be wasted. If this person repents later in life then he will regain his faith back, but he would have to renew his marriage. It is not required that the same person who witnessed this conversion from Islam must also witness the conversion to Islam, nor does this person has to be the witness in the renewal of marriage. There is no condition like that.
