Its wrong to recite Sana in 3rd rakat of witar

My freind told me a mas’ala that when offering 3 witar is it nessesary to read sa’na in 3rd rakat ? Is it true ?
Thana should not be recited in the third rakaat. Not only is it not necessary, but to recite it is wrong. The third rakaat is not a rakaat by its self, but rather it the third of three.
