The Vanilla extract or artificial flavor, which is used in a lot of foods, is it permissible to use it? It should be noted that extraction of this artificial flavor is done by using alcohol. Should we refrain from using such flavor in our food? There are a lot of types of foods including icecreams, sweets, chocolates etc. which contain it.

We currently do not have any research on this issue and until we do we cannot render a fatwa for its impermissibility. However it is better to refrain from using it.
