Is It Permissible to Apply Hair Dye Whilst in a State of Post-Natal Bleeding?

Question: Assalam alaykum

Is it permissible to use a natural henna hair dye while still in a state of post-natal bleeding?

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

Yes, it is permissible to apply hair dye whilst in a state of post-natal bleeding (nifas). I’m unaware of any specific ruling which would prohibit this, and at the same time, such beautification is generally permissible for women. An issue could arise if the henna somehow prevented water penetration to the hair, but that is normally unlikely.
