Referring to the hadith in Tirmidhi where Rasulullah (SAW) says, “He who performs Fajr Salat with Jamaat and remains seated in the same place while engaging in Dhikr until after sunrise and thereafter performs 2 Rakaats Nafil Salat, (Ishraaq), he will obtain the Thawaab of one Hajj and one Umrah”, does this apply to females as well, considering that it is harder for females to pray in congregation at the mosque? Is the same reward offered for women who pray the Fajr salat at home, and remain in dhikr until Salatul Ishraaq?
Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,
What is in itself sought, to fulfill this sunna, is to perform dhikr after one’s obligatory Fajr prayer until sunrise.
The sunna is fulfilled for women at home, and even for those who walk while doing dhikr, according to major Hanafi scholars such as Mulla Ali al-Qari.
Wassalam.
