Is it permissible to pray missed salah instead of Sunnah mu’akkada salah?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullah,

In the Hanafi school, one is still expected to perform current sunna prayers if one has missed prayers to make up: past shortcomings should not be a reason for current shortcomings. See answer(s) mentioned below.

Wassalam,

Faraz Rabbani
