Travelling with the Qur’an (RE: Handling Quranic Text)

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

If one buys books from abroad and it is most likely that there is quranic ayaats in it, can one put it in a suitcase when bringing it home? or does it have to be brought home by hand?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam,

It is permitted to put the Qur’an in one’s suitcase if it is inconvenient to carry it with one. Ideally, it should be placed in the middle and wrapped in something clean (such as a towel), if possible, to avoid getting it banged up.

And Allah alone gives success.

Wassalam,
Faraz Rabbani
