Can you control jinn? I have heard that you can control a jinn in 40 days, is this true? Is this allowed in Islam?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

Hajj is obligatory once in a lifetime. The position of the Hanafi school—based on the Prophetic hadiths emphasizing hastening to perform hajj, and what the Qur’anic verses on hajj imply—is that it is immediately obligatory upon those who have the means and ability to perform hajj, and sinful to delay without genuine excuse. [Marghinani, Hidaya; Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar] This is also the position of the Maliki and Hanbali schools. [Dardir, al-Sharh al-Kabir; Buhuti, Kashshaf al-Qina`]

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Hasten to perform hajj, for you don’t know what may happen to you.” [Related by Ahmad, 1/313]

Performing Umrah does not in itself make it a duty to perform hajj the same year or the next year.

And Allah alone gives success.

Wassalam,
Faraz Rabbani
