RE: Pointing finger in Tashahhud

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

When I was looking in internet, I found an Islamic site (Hanafi) that said that we are not point our finger in tashahhud, but you said that we point our finger. Please explain to me.

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam,

I have simply transmitted the relied upon position in the Hanafi school. This is also what the major scholars in Turkey [where that site is based] do.

If that site says not to point, this is a weak position in the Hanafi school and has been thoroughly refuted by its great scholars, such as Mulla Ali al-Qari and Imam Muhammad Amin Ibn Abidin.  [See answers in Related Q&A.]

And Allah alone gives success.

Wassalam,

Faraz Rabbani
