Are we allowed to kill cockroaches we find in our homes?

Yes, it is permitted to kill cockroaches and other pests in one’s house. [ Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar ] However, one should not burn them nor use means that cause slow or unnecessarily painful death.
