How do women come out of ihram after Umrah?

I am due to travel next week for Umrah with my wife, and wanted to know how women come out of ihram? I have been told that they cut an inch of hair – if this is the case, those performing severel Umrahs would have to cut several inches of hair. I would appreciate a swift answer. JazakAllah khair
