i use to pray taraweah prayer at regents park masjid as i really like the recitation of the qari that c0ome from egypt and lead the night prayer during ramahan and also recite tilawah of quran for all to benefit and listen but the shuyukh havent got the real beard what must i do ? can i carry on from next ramadhan go there or must i go elsewhere as i been many masajid in london but i havent found that same quranic recitation and atmosphere as at regents park plz help and give me ur opinion i am waiting for ur reply shukran jazeeran

Answer
Bismihi Ta’ala

It is important to perform Salaah beihnd an Imaam who is not involved in the sin of shaving or trimming the beard beyond one fists length. It is not permissible for a person who shaves to lead the prayers. There are many Masaajid in London that have beautiful reciters of the Qur’an. Maybe not as good as Regents Park Masjid, but the Salaah behind an Imaam who is following the Sunnah is far greater and superior.

Also, the atmosphere at Regents Park Masjid is not very encouraging. Majority of the people do not even perform Tarawih, but rather gather outside the Masjid and form their own gatherings.

And Allah knows best.
