Giving Zakaat to a Muslim women who is married to a Shia

Q: Can zakaat or sadaqah be paid to a Muslim woman who is ‘married’ to a Shia. She will undoubtedly spend part of the money on items for her husband and children.

Bismillaah

A: If you are sure that she is still a Muslim and has not become a Shia, then you can give her provided she is eligible for zakaat.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
