Marrying one’s niece

Q: I am a Muslim boy and I want to marry my sister’s daughter. Is this halaal or haraam? Please tell me the answer in the light of Qur’an and Hadith.

Bismillaah

A: Your sister’s daughter is your niece. It is haraam in Islam for one to get married to his niece.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
