Taking medication orally while fasting

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Sublingual tablets for heart patients which blend with the saliva and blood stream. Is it permitted during fasting when one’s condition is difficult to manage? i.e. will it break the fast?

Bismillaah

A: If the pill (medication, etc) is taken orally, it will invalidate the fast.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
