Backbiting a non-Muslim

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If you backbite about non-muslims will you get the sin of backbiting?

A: Engaging in nonsensical talks and inciting one against the other is obviously wrong and sinful, whether it is a Muslim or a non-Muslim. This is what normally happens in backbiting.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
