Azaan of a person who shaves his beard

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q:

  1. The azan of such a person, who shaves or trims his beard less than a fist is Makrooh tahreemi, is that particular person committing a sin at the same time while giving the azan.
  2. Does such a person receive the rewards mentioning in the ahadith for giving azan (same amount, less or not at all).

A:

  1. A person who shaves his beard is a open sinnner. Hence, he is not allowed to call out the Azaan. He should sincerely repent for his sin and grow a beard. Thereafter he can call out the Azaan.
  2. If he repents he will receive the reward.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
