My daughter does not listen to me

Q: My daughter is 12 years old and she does not listen to me. She has very bad behaviour. Something been done to her. Please could you help me?

A: You should ensure that she remains in good company all the time and she in not exposed to anything or any environment that is against the morals and values of Islam (e.g. being in a western school where there is no purdah and segregation between the sexes, reading anti Islamic literature, novels, magazines, TV, internet, keeping a cell phone, etc). You should impress upon her to perform her five daily Salaah on the prescribed time and observe purdah from na mahrams (even male cousins). You should also commence kitaab reading of the fazaail kitaabs (Fazaail-e-A’maal, Fazaail-e-Sadaqaat ) and Behishti Zewar every day at home with the entire family.
