Does Water Entering the Anus Break My Ramadhaan Fast?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Will my fast during Ramadhaan break if water enters the anus while cleaning after defecating and sometime even reaching the stomach via the anus? Do I have to fast again or not?

Bismillaah

A: In the state of fasting, if water enters the anal passage (through inserting one’s moist finger) and the water reaches the point where the enema is inserted then the fast will break. This point is approximately five to six inches. If water does not reach this point, the fast will not break.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
