Opening someone’s purse without their permission

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: A relative who is famous for doing taweez, magic came to my home. Since I had curiosity, I opened her purse to check if its true. I saw a taweez there and closed the purse. What I did was without her knowledge. Now I have guilt feeling that it was wrong to open her purse without permission. If I tell her, she would get furious. What to do?

Bismillaah

A: Make istighfaar, and in a general way ask her for maaf.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
