Asking forgiveness from the person one had harmed

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If a person tries to murder a person but the person doesn’t die. The person who tried to murder him wants to repent. Does he have to ask for forgiveness from Allah only or should he also ask forgiveness from the person he tried to murder and if so, if the person only asked forgiveness from Allah but not the person he tried to murder, is it sufficient?

Bismillaah

A: He also has to ask forgiveness from the person he caused immense pain to.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
