Mixing sand from the grave of a deceased with water and drinking it

Q: My mother passed away 2 weeks ago and someone said that in order for us to gain sabr and comfort, we should take sand from the leg side of her kabr, mix it in water and drink. I feel this is wrong and would like to know is this acceptable in Islam.
