Sick person making tayammum

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q:

1. If a patient prays without tayammum, because nothing was found to perform tayammum with, would it be permissible?

2. Would the patient who cannot sit and prays with ishara, need to repeat all prayers when he recovers?

3. What can be used to performed tayammum nowadays? Any stone or wall or something else which is easily avaialable?

Bismillaah

A:

1. The patient should wait until he finds some suitable item to make tayammum or wudhu with and then perform whatever namaaz were missed.

2. If this condition lasts for more than the duration of 5 salaah times then there will be no qadha for the missed namaaz.

3. Any stone or brick or sand or dust that settles on any item.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
