Studying the Quraan independently

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is marriage to one’s cousins allowed. But in 33:50 Allah said, “A privilege given only to you (Muhammad) and not to the believers”

Bismillaah

A: It is not right for you to study the Qur’aan independently of some expert. The command was confined to those cousins of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) who had migrated. Please, in future don’t study yourself. Leave out your self study and be humble enough to do a supervised study.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
