Can You Stay Unmarried for Life if You Don’t Want to Get Married?

Q: Can a man or woman who don’t want to get married stay unmarried for the whole life?

Bismillaah

A: Nikaah is an emphasised Sunnah of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) as well as a Sunnah of all the Ambiyaa. Hence if a person possesses the means to get married and is able to fulfil the obligations of nikaah then he/she should get married.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
