Dishwashing tablet containing glycerine and alcohol

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Dear respected Mufti Saab, I wanted to ask that if the dishwashing washing tablet contains glycerin along with alcohol (and other impure substances), are dishes that are washed impure. The machine does have a rinse cycle but then the ‘rinse aid’ that too if it contains glycerin along with alcohol or other impure ingredients, are dishes washed with it impure? According to the website , http://www.info-pg.com, dishwasher tablets and ‘rinse aid’ products do contain glycerin, alcohol ( not sure if all do but some products that I’ve checked do).

Bismillaah

A: If the ingredient which it is being washed with is impure and najis then obviously the plate will be impure.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
