Clipping the wings of one’s pet bird

Q: I am considering purchasing a budgie bird. Will it be permissible to cut its wings in a manner that it will not be able to fly? This would make it easier to handle it.

Bismillaah

A: As long as you do not cause it any pain or harm and take good care of it and ensure that it is comfortable then it is permissible.
