Who Inherits My Father’s House?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: My father passed away leaving 6 daughters who are all married and his mother is alive. He also has one sister who is widowed and has children. My question is who are his heirs and how will his house be shared out?

Bismillaah

A: If the deceased left only a mother, 6 daughters and 1 sister then the estate will be divided into 18 equal shares and distributed as follows:

Each daughter will receive 2 shares

The mother will receive 3 shares

The sister will receive 3 shares

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
