Moving the lips and making zikr

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q:

1. Is it permissible to read zikr only with the mind without moving the lips.

2. My wife had a dream in pregnancy that she is looking at the 3 day old moon but the moon is shining like a full moon. What does it mean?

Bismillaah

A:

1. It is permissible. Our ulama emphasize that it is more efficient to do it by the lips, for at times it is possible that the mind may stray away from zikr and you may not even realize it.

2. May Allah Ta`ala fulfil all your good aspirations.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
