Difference between a Mufti and a Faqeeh

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: What are the main differences between a “Mufti” and a “Faqeeh”? May Allah bless you all for your services.

Bismillaah

A: Generally a mufti is trained to issue verdicts in deen. A faqeeh is one who has a sound understanding of deen.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
