Listening to bayaans and zikr while studying

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Whilst busy with work or secular studies at home, may I listen to the following audio recordings as a ‘background’? 1. Recitation of the Qur’an Shareef. 2. Recording of a Zikr majlis. 3. A Bayaan. 4. A single nazm occasionally (like twice a week).

Bismillaah

A: We advise that you may listen to a bayaan or zikr majlis. The Qur’aan should be heard with concentration and silence.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
