As-salam-ala-kum, I m 43 years old & wanted to do haj-e-badal for my dadajaan,Marhoom Hafiz Manzoor haussain Sb. I have not done Haj for myself so far but intended to do with my wife in future.The expenses for Dadajaan’s Haj-e-Badal will be meet by me only. This year my Abba & Ammijaan are also going for Haj for themself & Ihave also applied for Dadajaan’s Haj-e Badal. NOW MY QUESTION is- “can do Haj-e-Badal for my Dadajaan taking into considertion of above mentioned fact & circumstances”? Thanks Allah Hafiz

(Fatwa: 1237/1162=D/1429)
If you did not perform your hajj in spite of it being obligatory upon you, then it is makrooh-e-tahreemi for you perform hajj on behalf of grandfather. You should first perform your own hajj otherwise send for hajj badal a person who has already performed his obligatory hajj.
