Question:
Q1-WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF QIYAAMAH WHICH ARE STILL TO COME? PLEASE EXPLAIN IN DETAIL.
Answer:
Huzaifah bin Aseed Al-Ghifaari (R.A.) narrates that the Prophet (S.A.W.) entered upon us while we were discussing a particular matter. He asked us what we were discussing. The Sahabah replied that: “We are discussing about Qiyaamah.” He (S.A.W.) then said: “Qiyaamah will never dawn upon you prior to your observing ten signs (The ten signs he mentioned were 🙂 Ad-Dukhaan (the smoke), Dajjal, the beast that will emerge from the earth, the sun rising from the west, the descent of Isa (A.S.), the breakout of Yajooj and Majooj, the sinking of the earth in three places in the east, west and the Arabian peninsula and finally the eruption of a fire from Yemen that will drive the people to their place of gathering.” (Mishkaat, Page 472)
1. Ad-Dukhaan: The smoke mentioned in the Hadith will appear and will engulf the East and the West and will remain for 40 days complete. This will cause much confusion and perplexity amongst the Muslims and will cause the non-Believers to fall unconscious. (Mazaahir-e-Haqq, Vol. 5, Page 52)
2. Dajjal: Dajjal is a one-eyed being who will appear before Qiyaamah. He will cause mischief in the land and will invite people towards him. He will deceive people through his magical powers by showing them his paradise, which will in actual fact, be Hell, and show them his hell, which in actual fact will be Paradise. He will cause rain to fall and nourish the crops of those who follow him and cause droughts and destruction to those who deny him. (Mishkaat, Page 473, Mazaahir-e-Haqq, Vol. 5, Page 62-64)
3. The Beast: The beast that will emerge from the earth will be of a very unfamiliar species. It will emerge from between Safaa and Marwaa from a crack caused by an earthquake. It will have the face of human, legs of a camel, neck of a horse, hands of a monkey and the tail of a hawk. It will emerge with the staff of Moosa (A.S.) in one hand and the ring of Sulaiman (A.S.) in the other. It will tour the earth at a phenomenal speed imprinting the word Mu’min’ on the forehead of the Believer and the word Kaafir’ on the forehead of the non-Believer. (Mazaahir-e-Haqq, Vol. 5, Page 53)
4. Rising of the sun from the West: It is stated in a Hadith narrated by Abu Zar (R.A.) that the sun after setting makes its way to the throne of Allah Ta’ala and prostrates under it. Thereafter it seeks permission from Allah Ta’ala to again rise from the East before being granted the permission to do so. But soon a time will come when it will prostrate and it will not be accepted. It will seek permission before being denied and told to return and rise from the West, it will then do so. (Mishkaat, Page 472)
5. The Descent of Isa (A.S.): Allah Ta’ala will cause Isa (A.S.) to descend before Qiyaamah. He will descend on the eastern white Minaret of the Jaami’ Masjid of Damascus with his hands on the shoulders of two Angels. He will be wearing two yellow coloured garments, lowering his head with droplets of water dripping from his forehead. Every non-Believer will die by merely inhaling his breath which will travel as far as his sight. He will then look for Dajjal before killing him at a place called Lud in Syria, (Mishkaat, Page 473)
6. Yajooj and Majooj: Yajooj and Majooj are then names of two tribes from the progeny of Yaaft bin Nooh (A.S.). These tribes were very wild and powerful. They made robbery and causing mischief in the land their occupation. The valley in which these two tribes are living was sealed of by Thul-Qarnain by building a wall as a high as the mountains on its sides and sixty yards thick so that the people may be protected from their mischief. When Qiyaamah will draw near, this wall will collapse causing them to spread out in the land as mentioned in Surah Kahaf, Verse 93-97. (Mazaahir-e-Haqq, Vol. 5, Page 54)
7-9. The sinking of the Earth: Many places have been afflicted by the earth sinking
but the three to occur prior to Qiyaamah will be much worse and destructive. (Mazaahir-e-Haqq, Vol. 5, Page 54)
10. Eruption of fire in Yemen: The words place of gathering’ mentioned in the Hadith refers to a place in Syria where the fire will drive the people to.

Another major sign of Qiyaamah is the appearance of Imam Mahdi (A.S.) who will be from the lineage of the Prophet (S.A.W.) and the progeny of Fatima (R.A.). He will appear before the descent of Isa (A.S.) and fill the earth with justice and equality as it will be at that time filled with oppression and tyranny. (Mishkaat, Page 470)
