Question:
dear Mufti
recently in the UK there has been a new fashion wave by the Islamic world of UK major companies are producing excellent artists which are extremely difficult to resist who sing anashid with the aid of daffs and some times more. they perform in prestigious halls where the programme is professionally arranged for thousands of Muslims who pay for the event. it is becoming very popular even amongst the orthodox Asian Muslims.
the organisers are outwardly supporting it and many big Islamic markets are promoting them. the rest are not doing anything to combat them or their ideas although it has caught on in a major way.

p.s. some songs have no instrument played but sound with their mouth is made in Rap Songs is that allowed?
Answer:
The Daff is a circular musical instrument with one of its sides covered with leather, some have small metal discs around it and some don’t.
The permissibility of aiding Islamic songs with a Daff is a controversial issue but a great majority of our Akaabireen (pious Ulamaa) have ruled it to be impermissible by passing a general ruling of the impermissibility of listening to any type of songs which are aided by musical instruments of any kind. (Fataawaa Darul Uloom, Vol. 1 (Azizul Fataawaa), Page 739, Aapke Masaail aur Unkaa Hal, Vol. 7, Page 345)
Islamic songs are no doubt the best alternative and the best way of combating the western music as long as it is sung without using any musical instruments.
Those Islamic songs in which sounds are made with the mouth and not with musical instruments are permissible to listen to.
