Does reciting a few Surahs on the last Wednesday of Safar make you wealthy?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by IslamicPortal.co.uk

Does reciting a few Sūrahs on the last Wednesday of Ṣafar make you wealthy?

Question

Is the following narration authentic: “If one recites Sūrah Alam Nashraḥ, Sūrah al-Tīn, Sūrah al-Naṣr and Sūrah Ikhlāṣ 80 times each on the last Wednesday of Ṣafar, he will become rich before the month ends and his life will be prolonged.”

Answer

We have not come across this narration in the ḥadīth books and the content suggests that it is a fabricated narration.

قال الحافظ ابن القیم في المنار المنیف (ص ٥۰): والأحاديث الموضوعة عليها ظلمة وركاكة ومجازفات باردة تنادي على وضعها واختلاقها على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم۔
