Asr Salah at Mithl Awwal

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by IslamicPortal.co.uk

ʿAṣr Ṣalāh at Mithl Awwal

Question

ʿAṣr Ṣalāh time starts at 2.52pm. Some brothers have already started according to the early time. I join them exactly at 2.52pm, I finish my prayer and make up my missed units. Is my Ṣalāh valid or should have performed my own Ṣalāh individually?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم

Answer

As long as they started ʿAṣr Ṣalāh after mithl awwal, your Ṣalāh is valid. (refer to our earlier Fatwa entitled: Travelling on Plane and performing ʿAṣr Ṣalāh at Mithl Awwal).
