Please can you verify this statement?
Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) said:
“A Friday that occurs in the 10 days of Dhul Hijjah is more distinguished to any other Friday of the year.”
Answer
Yes, Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) has mentioned this in Fathul Bari, his commentary of Sahih Bukhari. This is due to the fact that two virtuous occasions/days are combined; The day of Jumu’ah and the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah.
وقال الداوودي: لم يرد عليه الصلاة والسلام أن هذه الأيام خير من يوم الجمعة لأنه قد يكون فيها يوم الجمعة يعني فيلزم تفضيل الشيء على نفسه وتعقب بأن المراد أن كل يوم من أيام العشر أفضل من غيره من أيام السنة سواء كان يوم الجمعة أم لا ويوم الجمعة فيه أفضل من الجمعة في غيره لاجتماع الفضلين فيه
