When a person walks to the Masjid, good deeds are recorded and sins are wiped out

What is the reference for this narration?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“When a man goes out of his house to his Masjid one foot records a good deed and the other erases a bad deed.”

Answer

Imams Nasai and Ahmad (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Sunan Nasai; Al Mujtaba, Hadith: 705, Musnad Ahmad, vol. 2 pg. 319)

Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith authentic and ‘Allamah Dhahabi concurs.

(Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 1 pg. 217. Also see: Sahih Ibn Hibban; Al Ihsan, Hadith: 1622 and Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 6059)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
