Is this Hadith authentic?
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Famine would not break out due to lack of rain, but there would be famine despite heavy rainfall as nothing would grow from the earth.”
Answer
Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu). The Hadith is therefore authentic.

Despite this world being a place of ‘cause and effect’ it is only Allah Ta’ala who puts effect into the causes, when He so chooses.
This is manifest all the time. The above is just one such example.
