Did Sayyiduna ‘Umar marry Sayyidatuna Ummu Kulthum bint ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhum) and have a son name Zayd?

The Biographers of Sahabah mention that Sayyiduna ‘Umar did indeed marry Sayyidatuna Ummu Kulthum (radiyallahu ‘anhuma). Due to her close link to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) he gave her forty thousand (40 000) Dirhams as mahr (dowry).

They had two children, a son, Zayd and a daughter, Ruqayyah.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
