Question:
Are septum piercings haram since they are a nose piercing and nose piercings are halal?
Answer:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Septum piercing itself comes under the same ruling as nose piercing, however just like earings and other nose piercing, if the septum piercing is done in emulation of fussaq, then it will be impermissible.
These could include things like large gauge piercing, captive bead ring (CBR), ball closure ring (BCR), captive hoop, or captive ball ring etc. The ring should be modest and not represent the person as a fasiq.
