The three divorces that were said brought about a total end to the marriage. Even though the parties were separated for one year, they were not allowed to come back together as husband and wife. If they wish to unite as husband and wife, they have to remarry. However, this re marriage can only be done when the divorced wife marries another husband and he divorces her. After this, she will pass her iddah period and will then be allowed to marry the former husband.
