Zakaat on old Stocks.

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by

A person owns a mechanical business and has stocks packed up for a few years (which he considers as old stocks) and also other stocks (which are known to be new stocks), does he have to pay Zakaah on every thing or not?

Once the stocks can be considered as ‘stocks of trade’ and are items which are to be sold, then Zakaah would be paid on everything, old and new.

And Allah knows best.
